John L Sullivan Sr.

John L Sullivan Sr., 81, of Merom, passed away at his home on January 20, 202. He was born in Modesto CA, to Almar Sullivan and Dorothy (Messick) Sullivan.  He was retired from the Operating Engineer’s as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Sullivan and a long time minister of the gospel, as well as pastor of Bibleway Church in Linton IN. His hobbies included collecting and refurbishing antiques and was an avid reader.  The final chapter has been written and he has finally joined Jake beyond the sunset.  His stories will live on forever in the memories of his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents, brother Thomas Joseph Sullivan and  sister Loretta Brown.

Survivors include his wife of  64 years Louise (Cooper) Sullivan,  whom he married on June 1, 1956, sons John L Sullivan Jr. (Meleah), Kenneth Duane Sullivan (Amy),   daughter Sherry Louise Evans (Don),  grandchildren Aaron Evans, Kristen Evans, Tyler Sullivan, Trent Sullivan (Vanessa), Kadee Sullivan, Joshua Sullivan (Alysia), Connor Sullivan (Kelsey), Jonathan Sullivan, Eli Sullivan, great-grandchildren, Alta and Dean Sullivan.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday January 25, 2021 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastors Mike Flemming,  Steve Williams and Kenneth Sullivan  officiating.  Visitation will be on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.  Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.
