Sullivan,
John Ray Turner, of Shelburn, passed peacefully away at his residence on Sunday December 31, 2023. He was born in Sullivan on June 16, 1982 to Amanda L. Turner and John R. Turner. John was a 2000 graduate of North Central High School. He was currently employed as A substance abuse counselor, for Centurion at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility. John also was a former instructor for Washington State University. He received his Masters in Criminal Justice from Indiana State University, and also studied at Vincennes University.
His favorite pastimes were enjoying music concerts with friends and family. He loved to travel and spend time with his family and faithful rat terrier dog “Trump”.
John is preceded in death by his grandmother, Sharon “Lemay” Robinson.
Surviving him are his Mother, Amanda Turner of Farmersburg, Father, John Turner of Shelburn; grandparents, Archie Robinson of Riverview along with Bill and Mary Turner of Shelburn; Aunts, Connie Smith and Debbie Houser; Uncles, Archie Robinson and Perry Turner. As well as several cousins, friends and extended family members.
A celebration of life will be Friday, January 5, 2023 at Holmes Memorial Chapel starting at 11:00 am. with services at 1:00 pm. Pastor Norman Santus will be officiating.
