Shelburn, Joseph Henry "Joe" Hamilton, 74, of Shelburn passed away on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born in Butler PA on January 21, 1939, to Wendell and Leona (Pizer) Hamilton. He was a graduate of Scotland School in PA and went on to further his education to become a machinist. After retirement, he enjoyed the game of golf and accomplished a personal best with a hole in one at the Oak Knoll golf course. He maintained memberships at the Sullivan Elks Lodge #911, Sons of the American Legion and the VFW. Preceding him in death are his parents, his first wife Marlene Adams Hamilton, his second wife Mary Jane Hatfield Hamilton, and a brother William Hamilton. He is survived by three daughters Connie (Bob) Levy of Country Club Hills IL., Merra (David) Daniels of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Kim (Ken) Stowe of Oak Forest IL, a sister Jane Nelson of Sullivan, a brother Ronald Fleischer of Atlanta, GA, a companion Pamela "Skeeter" Montgomery, five grandchildren, Jake Daniels, Kenny Stowe, Michael Stowe, Deanna Daniels, Taylor Stowe, two great grandchildren Owen and Landyn. Services to celebrate his life will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday September 7, 2013 at the Westside Church of Christ with Pastor Chris Jaekel officiating. Holmes Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
