Joy Anita (Jessee) Brown

Joy Anita Jessee Brown, passed from this life on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Methodist Hospital, with her loving family at her side. Joy, began her life journey as one of 5 children of Carl and Maudie Jean Elliott Jessee, on February 4, 1960 in Kokomo, Indiana. She was a graduate of Jacksonville High School, Jacksonville, Florida.  Following graduation she married the love of her life, Greg Brown on April 22, 1978. Raising their 6 children was the delight of her life, along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a longtime employee of the United States Postal Service. In her spare time she enjoyed writing. Putting pen to paper to tell her autobiography . She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Being a homemaker was who she was above all. She attended Hutsonville Tree of Life Church.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jason Michael Brown, daughter, Gaila Joy Thacker, along with a brother, Carl Jesse Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, Greg Brown; sons, Gregory Eric Brown, Joshua Kyle Brown, Daniel James Brown; daughter, Christina Ann Brown; siblings, Audrey Bowen, Jane Brown, Windi Moore and Paul Jessee. 14 grandchildren and 2 great -grandchildren.  Along with several nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Joy, will be on Saturday March 15, 2025  at Holmes Memorial Chapel with visitation from 9:00 am. until the time of service at 11:00 am. with Pastor Cecile Delagarza officiating. Burial will follow at Merom Cemetery.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to Holmes Memorial Chapel in Joy's name. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
