Joyce Boyll

Joyce Elaine Boyll passed away on September 24, 2023 at the age of 85.  She was born in Troy, Ohio on December 10, 1937 to Garland Chester Thompson and Edna Marie (Clark) Thompson.  She attended Farmersburg High School, graduating in 1955. She married Gerald Lee “Jerry” Boyll on October 28, 1955.  Together, they raised a large, loving family of six boys.  Joyce worked at American Latex Corporation in Sullivan. Then, for many years, she operated Sullivan County Medical Transport.  She was very active at Friendship Baptist Church in Farmersburg and in the Sullivan County Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Gerald Lee “Jay” Boyll, Jr., brother Tandy Thompson and sister-in-law Janet Thompson.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years; five sons – Jeff of Terre Haute, Ron (Peggy) of Greenwood, Randy (Kelly) of Farmersburg, Todd (Michelle) of Sullivan, and Tim (Samantha) of Tampa, Florida; brothers David (Kathy), Allen, and Jim; sister-in-law Delores Thompson; and by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan, with visitation scheduled for Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 1 to 4 p.m. and funeral on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11 a.m. with pastor Jim Larger officiating. Interment will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Farmersburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church.
