Karen Jane May, 74 of Sullivan, Indiana went to meet the Lord, Tuesday, October 24, 2017. She was born April 8, 1943 to Buel and Helen Piety. Karen graduated from the last class of Pimento High School in 1961. She married Keith May whom she knew since age 3, on February 9, 1962. Karen was baptized at age 16 at Farmersburg Church of Christ. She has been a lifelong member the Church of Christ.
Her love of Gospel Music led her to the church choir, to marry a member of the Melody Boys Quartet and together with her husband and children to perform as the May Family Singers.
Karen is survived by her brother, Dennis (Sharon) Piety, her husband of 55 years, Keith May, her children, Karla May, Angela May Bailey, Darin (Jennifer) May, and Marsha (Jim) Slopsema. Her Grandchildren, Kristen(Casey) Ridgway, Jordan (Molly) May, Catherine Slopsema, Samantha (Jacob) Stucky, Eric Bailey, Laura Bailey, Nathan Barney, Jakob Barney, Boone Barney, and Abigail May. Her Great Grandchildren, Jonas Ridgway, Jude Ridgway, and Lucas May, as well as several beloved Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday Evening, October 27th from 4 pm-8 pm at Westside Church of Christ, Hwy 41, Sullivan, Indiana. Funeral Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday October 28th at the Westside Church of Christ. Holmes Memorial Chapel was entrusted with arrangements. Interment to follow service at West Lawn Cemetery in Farmersburg, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to Camp Wabashi, 3525 E. Harlan Drive, Terre Haute, Indiana 47802 or to Child Place, Inc., 2420 E. 10th Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. Envelopes will be available at the Church.
