Katherine Rotramel

February 14, 1924 – June 16, 2026

Katherine Rotramel, 102 years young, heard the soft, sweet call of Jesus to come home on June 16, 2026, in the comfort of her home. She began her long and fulfilling life journey on February 14, 1924, in Merom, Indiana. She was one of twelve children born to Otto “Shorty” and Cora Hoseman.

Katherine was a graduate of Sullivan High School. After graduation, she married her loving husband, Everett Rotramel Jr. Together, they worked side by side on the family farm while lovingly raising their five children. Katherine credited her longevity to hard work, as she worked the farm alongside her husband like any other farm hand.

Katherine was a loving and compassionate Mom, Mamaw, neighbor, and friend. She was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her home was always open to all, and the memories made around her dining room table were many. Her fried chicken every Sunday was the highlight of the week, bringing family and friends together to enjoy her delicious cooking and warm hospitality.

She cherished spending time with family. Her farm was a place of excitement and adventure for all the cousins, whether saddling up the horses, grabbing a fishing pole, or simply enjoying time well spent together. She enjoyed sports, especially watching softball and basketball, and she rarely missed a game when her children were playing.

Katherine was a dedicated member of Bethlehem Church in Carlisle for many years and was also a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. Her love, kindness, and dedication will live on in every heart she touched.

Those awaiting her arrival were her parents; her loving husband, Everett Rotramel Jr.; daughter-in-law, Judy Rotramel; son-in-law, John Bray; and several brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Mike Rotramel (Barbara), David Rotramel, Marsha Earley (David), Beth Rotramel Bray, and Julie Meeks (Cokie); grandchildren, Jared Earley, Amy Baxley, Heather Wall, Collin Murphy, Travis Meeks, and Whitney Meeks; great-grandchildren, Madison Kinnaman, Aphtyn Earley, Emmarie Earley, Kynzee Baxley, Cooper Baxley, Mayzee Wall, and Mariah Parker; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Holmes Memorial Chapel, with visitation from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. Pastor David Lisman will officiate.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Katherine’s memory to the Bethlehem Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the service.

"Her love and dedication will live on in each heart she touched."
