Keith Buck Quick

September 7, 1939 — January 13, 2017

J. Keith "Buck" Quick, 77, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at Union Hospital with family by his side. Buck was born September 7, 1939 to Jewell Lehue "Dude" Quick and Opal Madge Miller Quick.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou, whom he married on November 22, 1959. Buck is also survived by his children. Kim Ward (Byron, deceased) of Dugger, Terri Phillips (Robert) of Graysville, Tammy Contramaestre (Edgar) of Terre Haute, Tom Quick (Farrah) of Seattle, Washington, Troy Quick (Dee) of Pensacola, Florida, and his adopted son, Jim, his neighbor. His 13 grandchildren brought him extreme joy and he loved being their "Poppy". He was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren and was awaiting the arrival of 2 more this summer. He leaves behind a sister Rev. Karol Popoff (Tin, deceased), two brothers Rev. Jimmy Quick (Marjorie) and Ray Quick (Lori). Also, brother in law Tom Netherlain, sister in laws Sharon Abner and Lori Ann Trowbridge (Bobby) Along with multiple nieces, nephews, cousins.

Buck was a retired meat cutter by trade. He enjoyed helping coach and umpire baseball/softball games. He looked forward to spending time with his close friends in his second home state of Texas. His love for his family and friends trumps all, and he loved making new friends that he would turn into family. He was a member of the Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Hymera. We take comfort in the fact that he is at home with Jesus. "Death leaves a heartache that no one can heal. Love leaves a memory that no one can steal."

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Hymera. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the church with Rev. Norman Santus officiating. Visitation will be from 9 am until time of services Tuesday. There will be no interment as per Buck's wishes he will be cremated.
