Kimberly Jo (Knotts) Grimes

Kimberly Jo Knotts Grimes passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on February 8, 2024 at The Waters of Sullivan. Kim was born in Sullivan IN on March 17, 1958 to LaVere Cruise and Velma Myers Knotts. She was a classmate of the 1976 class of Sullivan High School. She was a cook for Central Elementary, Baesler's (Stewart Street store) along with other various businesses, over the years.

Kim was a loving Mother, grandmother and friend who deeply loved all children and animals. Her dream life would have been, having a rescue farm that took in every animal she knew needed a home, with her family by her side. She enjoyed fishing, camping, mushroom hunting, reading and being outdoors tending to her flowers or just sitting in the swing. Most of her life was lived on South Main Street (across from the park). Growing up it was a thriving family neighborhood. She affectionately called all her friends the "South End Gang", one where the neighbors all knew and looked out for one another. She always held fondly to her memories of the corner grocery store (Falconbury's) purchasing candy and treats for pennies along with her neighbors, Mam and Pap that she adopted as her grandparents. Kim, grew up in a time when life was slow and easy, neighbors were friends and time was spent visiting over the fence while hanging laundry.

Her parents precede her, along with very special friends, Brad Brummett and Phil Mick.  Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Michael Grimes, Matt Grimes, his wife Misty; grandchildren, Shay’Lynn, Taylor, Thomas and Gracie; great-grandchildren, Jalynn, Braxton and Memphis, along with nieces and a nephew.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February  24, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Center Ridge Cemetery.  The staff at Holmes Memorial Chapel were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
