Sullivan,
Larry E. Kinnett, 84, of Sullivan, passed from this life with family by his side, on Sunday December 18, 2022, at his residence. He was born on January 5, 1938, in Sullivan IN. to Harold “ Dude” and Grace (Hamilton) Kinnett. Larry married his wife of 62 years, Patricia A (Wright) Kinnett, on March 5, 1960.
Larry was a 1957 graduate of Graysville High School. He started working as a truck driver for Clabber Girl Baking Powder and eventually started working at Black Lumber Company until it closed. Larry then went to work for Sullivan County Highway Dept. until he retired on his 80th birthday. He was a County Councilman until the end of his term in 2020. Larry was known to many as their Webelos Leader, pack #155, he loved to play Euchre and he loved his family who will miss him greatly. Preceding him in death were his parents, his sister, Mary, and her husband Floyd “Mac” McCarty, and his daughter in law Molly Kinnett.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, Sullivan; three sons, Scott (Stephanie) Kinnett, Dugger; Jeff Kinnett, Sullivan; and Bryan Kinnett, Sullivan; one daughter, Lisa (Rick) Chastain, Sullivan; one sister, Francie (Jack) Goodman, Sullivan; and his grandchildren, Andrea (Mark) Spires, Marshall, IL; Ryan Kinnett, Vincennes; Brett (Jessica) Chastain, Merom; Kylee (Jeremy) Knoepfle, Dugger; Seth (Chelsea) Kinnett, Dugger; Jessie (Justin) Moore, West Terre Haute; Jeffrey (Holly) Kinnett, Sullivan; Tori Stamper (Grant Landis), Sullivan; Zachary (Hallie) Chastain, Sullivan; Isaac Chastain, Sullivan; Dillion Kinnett, Terre Haute; Laura Chastain, Sullivan; and Twenty-three Great- Grandchildren; and three Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday 1:00 p.m. December 22, 2022, at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Cox officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday December 22, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Center Ridge Cemetary.
