Lewis Earl Wells

Lewis Earl Wells, 96, of Hymera passed away on Monday April 16, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Hymera on October 27, 1921 to Lewis Wells and Leila (Plew) Wells. Earl was a 1939 graduate of Hymera High School; went in to the Army Air Corps, worked at Weston Paper Co. for 25 years, and was a farmer. He was a member of the Hymera Bethel United Methodist Church, the American Legion for 71 years; a board member of Farmers Home Administration, and the FSSA. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Lee Wells, and a sister Norma Nash.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years Margaret Shipley Wells, sons Ronald (Sondra) Wells, Donald (Nancy) Wells, a daughter Judy (Michael) Gaskins, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:00p.m. on Saturday April 21, 2018 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Revs. Norman Santus and Jim Salyers officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Kights of Pythius Cemetery. Military services will be given by the Hymera, Shelburn, Sullivan American Legion's and the Sullivan VFW.
