Linda (Hollingsworth) Kemple

September 19, 1943 — December 4, 2019

Lenox MI

Linda Mae (Hollingsworth) Kemple, longtime resident of Indianapolis, IN, passed into eternity on December 4, 2019 in Lenox, MI with her family by her side.  Sweet, tender, compassionate, loving, generous, patient, and humble all describe this devoted child of God who has gone home to be with her heavenly Father.  Her simple encouragement to you is that you live your life trusting and praising God.

Linda was born in Carlisle, IN on September 19, 1943 to Floyd Charles Hollingsworth and Lillian Ruth (Ladson) Hollingsworth. She graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1961 and later attended Freed-Hardeman University.  She married Phillip Allen Kemple on February 10, 1968, in Alexandria, IN.  She worked numerous jobs during their years together, but her life's greatest work was reflecting Christ as a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  Linda’s first love was Jesus her Savior, and she always insisted that God get the credit for the good in her life.  She served and worshiped with the church of Christ in Greenwood, IN for well over four decades.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents as well as a sister, Wanda Ruth Hollingsworth.  Survivors include her husband, Phillip.  Sons: Mark (Rachel) Kemple of Smithville, MO and Aaron (Anna) Kemple of Casco, MI.  Brothers: Lee (Lori) Hollingsworth of Jonesboro, IN, and Paul (Martha) Hollingsworth of Dugger, IN.  Sisters: Lois (John) Hathaway of Carlisle, IN., Beverly (JC) Guyer of Gosport, IN., and Kay (Albert) Ravellette of Campton, KY.  She is also survived by ten grandchildren whom she loved so much, along with other family and friends.

Services will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday December 12, at Holmes Memorial Chapel, Sullivan, IN., with Roger Shouse officiating.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery, Carlisle, IN, then there will be a gathering of family and friends after grave side services.  The family suggest that if friends so desire, Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
