Lloyd “Gene” Williams 79, of Carlisle, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday August 11, 2024 at Gibson Family Center, with his loving family at his side. Gene was born in Terre Haute, IN.  to Roy Lee and Mary Lee Haddock Williams on September 15, 1945.

Gene was a 1963 graduate from Honey Creek High School. He proudly served his country in the Army Reserves. He was an Electrician with Local #725 IBEW Union, from which he retired after many years of dedicated service. He married his loving wife and life partner, Mary Emma Kimmell on November 19, 1966 and they celebrated 57 years together.

He was a very dedicated family and Christian man who led by example, he had a deep devotion to his church and church family. He was a member of Bible View Baptist Church where he served in any capacity that was needed. He enjoyed teaching children’s worship and doing needed construction projects. He was never one to be idle and loved using his hands to help others. Neighbors always knew they could count on his help if in need. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and all aspects of farm life. He was an encouragement to countless lives along the way. His witness was evident to all who knew him, his passion for God, family and life was abundant with his presence.

Preceding him in death are his parents along with a sister, Shirley Ann Butwin.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Williams; daughter, Jennifer Jo Smith and husband Shan; one grandchild, Schyler Smith; siblings, Alice Stultz, Mary Evelyn Miller (Paul), Roy L.Williams Jr.(Judy), Bobby Williams, Kenny Williams (Shirley) and Gary Williams along with a brother in-law, Frank Butwin; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be at Holmes Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 4 pm. till 8 pm.

Services will be held at Bible View Baptist  Church in Sullivan IN. on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 1pm. with Pastor Larry Kimmell officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Carlisle IN.
