Loren D. Davis, 89, passed away March 6, 2026 at Union Hospital. He was born May 18,1936 to Effie (Robertson) and Harry Davis. He was raised in Farnsworth, IN. Loren was one of 14 children. He was a Dugger High School graduate. He joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country several years. He then met his loving wife, Verne E. (Herring) Davis. They later married on May 28, 1960 in M.A. and moved back to Sullivan County. He was employed at Universal Peabody Coal Mine until retirement in 1990.

He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, several brothers, and sisters.

He leaves behind 2 daughters, Harriet Shake and Barb Roseberry (Ted Skinner); 4 grandchildren, Kimberly (Brandon) McDavid, Kyle Shake, Kayla (Jason) Harris, and Alexis Simoneaux. 10 great-grandchildren, several step great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Sullivan American Legion Post #139, Sullivan Masonic Lodge 263, Sullivan Shifters Car Club and Shriners.

Services will be Friday, March 13, 2026 with visitation from 11:00 am. until 1:00 pm. With services at 1:00 pm. Pastor Erich Blevins will be officiating.

Sullivan County Honor Guard and Masonic Services will conducted.  Burial will follow at Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn, IN.
