Marion “Gene” Gambill, 93 of Sullivan, slipped peacefully into eternal rest in the comfort of his home on September 10, 2026, surrounded by those he loved. He began his life journey on May 1,1933 in Sullivan, the son of the late William and Ella Gambill. He attended Graysville High School and proudly went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Gene was a Korean War Veteran. A member of the VFW post #649, where he served as Quarter Master and Commander. Sullivan American Legion post #139 and Sullivan Elks 911. He married the love of his life, Sharon Killion on February 6,1953. They spent 73 years of loving life together. He was a dedicated part of the Crane Ammunition Base, where he began as a welder and was quickly promoted to Manager of Public Works.

Gene enjoyed spending his spare time on the golf course and being a longtime member of the “Rinky Dinks”. His tall stature was a stand out for everyone who met him along the way. His consistency to protect, provide and lead his family was much larger than he was. He loved his family beyond measure, his endless devotion to his wife of 73 years was astounding. He loved deeply and without hesitation. The legacy he leaves behind will be forever cherished.

Those preceding him are his parents, William Gambill and Ella Gadberry, and a son, James Gambill, along with siblings, Russell Lee Gambill and Suzanne Bonham.

Those here to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sharon Killion Gambill; daughter, Pam Morrison; grandchildren, Michael Morrison (Dee), Destiny Waltman and Joseph Gambill (Erin). Several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Center Ridge Cemetery, on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 11:00 am. with Minister Norman Santus officiating. Sullivan County Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors.
