Mark Grindle, 61, of Mount Carmel IL, passed away on January 3, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville IN. He was born on December 8th 1952 in Saline Michigan to H. Howard and Marceline (Brunic) Grindle. Mark was a 1970 graduate of Clay City High School, served in the US Army as a MP, was a coal miner for 28 years before retiring in 2005, enjoyed riding motorcycles, spending time with his family, and was known as Papaw to his grandchildren. He looked forward to those big hugs and kisses and I Love You's that always put a smile on his face. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother Jon Eric Grindle.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years whom he married in Brazil IN on May 30th 1975, Debra K (Hunter) Grindle, Two sons Benjamin (Amber) Grindle of Lawrenceville IL, Kristopher (Nicole) Grindle of Mount Carmel IL, a daughter Amber Grindle of Mount Carmel IL, a brother Dennis Grindle of fontanet IN, sisters Cheryl Cotter (Bob) of Bentonville AR, Yvette Dixon (Chuck) of Midland NC, Marcia Larson (Clay) of Cape Cod FL, four grandchildren Alexander, Landon, Bailey, Nicholas, Nieces and nephews: Shannon Grindle of Punta Gorda, FL, Denny Grindle of Punta Gorda, FL, Missy Pipes of Riley, IN, Johnny Pipes (Karla) of Clay City, IN, Mindy Pipes of Plainfield, IN, Dusti Bullard of Midland, NC, Stephan Campbell (Kristie) of Reidsville, NC, Greg Campbell of Jacksonville, FL, Kristan Dickens (Frank) of Indianapolis, IN and Marcie Shaynak (Andy) of Cape Coral, FL
Services for Mark will be on January 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan IN with pastor Billy Stines officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City, IN, Military Services will be given by the Hymera, Shelburn, and Sullivan American Legion's and the VFW of Sullivan.
