Mark Ivy, 63, of Hymera passed away on February 7, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and his faithful dog Chooey. He was born in Evansville on December 13, 1954 to Charles Lynn Ivy and Sharon (Powell) Ivy. Mark was a 1972 graduate of Sullivan High School, joined the Air Force receiving top honors and became a computer technician in medical records. He was an accomplished musician, singer, pianist, photographer, a newspaper reporter, and contributor to CNN as a news writer. Mark had attended the Church of God and Sang with the Crystal Valley Quartet and played the keyboard.

Surviving are his mother Sharon Hollifield (Bill Large) of Sullivan, his father Lynn (Susan) Ivy of Farmersburg, grandmother, Mary O Powell, sons David (Anna) Ivy of Plainfield, Kevin (Hailey) Ivy of Leander TX, brothers Phill (Brenda) Ivy of Hymera, Lyndale Ivy of Pendleton, sister Leticia (Chad) Maxey of Dugger, Lorena Martin, aunt Nancy Shipley, three granddaughters, several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will hold a celebration of Mark's life at 11:00a.m February 17, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Hymera. Special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice, and to Tabitha Sappingfield & Bambi Whitlock for their love and care of Mark. Services have been entrusted to Holmes Memorial Chapel.
