Martha Ann Newman, 59, of Angola, formerly of Terre Haute passed away on January 29, 2014 at her home in Angola IN. after a long-term illness. She was born in Terre Haute on August 15, 1954 to Robert and Martha (Kearschner) Bailey. Martha was a graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute, had spent many years caring for others as a nurse, most recently at Westminster Village in Terre Haute, loved spending time with her family, her dog Zisa, watching movies and traveling. She was a member of Fairview Missionary Church in Angola. She was preceded in death by her mother Martha Bailey.
She is survived by her husband Rick Newman of Angola, her three sons Jim (Megan) Richardson of Terre Haute; Joseph (Ingrid) England of Nicholasville, KY; and Jesse Bridges of Terre Haute; three grandchildren Chelsea Richardson, Elizabeth England, Brianna England and one great-grandson Damion Corona. Martha was also blessed to have a very special relationship with her aunt, Leona Hoskins of Farmersburg, IN and her life-long friend, Cathy Ellington of Sullivan, IN.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev Norman Santus officiating. Visitation will be from11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn.
