Mary Carolyn Comeau

Mary Carolyn Comeau, of Merom, slipped into eternal life on Monday, May 18,2026, with those she cherished at her side. She began her life journey on January 12,1950 in Wabash, Indiana to the late Don and Esther Jones Bezy, in Wabash, Indiana.

Carolyn, was a graduate of Reitz Memorial High School class of 1968. She furthered her education earning her LPN from IVY Tech and RN Degree from Lincoln Trail. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Psi iota Xi Sorority and RN group.

Her endearing smile and spirited laugh will echo eternally in the hearts of those she held dear. Carolyn was known as “Kika” by her adored grandchildren and great-grandkids. She enjoyed being very involved in all their activities. She only on rare occasions, missed a birthday party or ballgame. Family members would always receive their annual call, to sing Happy Birthday, to them on their special day. She was a valued babysitter for many families over the years.

Carolyn found her love of nursing in working Labor and Delivery. She was a dedicated part of the Regional Hospital family in Terre Haute for many years. She would always sing Happy Birthday to the newborn as she handed the baby to the parents. She loved to travel and would go whenever and wherever. Her favorite trips were the ones to the beach with the “ Beach Bags”. Each Memorial Day weekend she made sure to make enough scrumptious peanut butter cookies for the group of 15 family and friends going to the Indianapolis 500. She liked watching the race, but she really loved to “people watch”. Her favorite time of year that she most enjoyed was the Merom Bluff Chautauqua. She enjoyed hosting a bonfire for hot dogs and s'mores. Friends knew that there would be fun stories and cold beer waiting.

Her parents, along with her dear Aunt, Mary Elizabeth (Lubb) Jones were awaiting her arrival.

Those here to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas R. Thompson; siblings, Susy Pierson, Jean Miller, Pat (Lisa) Bezy and Mike (Debbie) Bezy; grandchildren, Jonas (Bailey) Thompson, Zoë Thompson and Lily Thompson; great-grandchildren, Roman Thompson and Ronnie Thompson. Along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Graveside services to celebrate a well lived life, will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Center Ridge Cemetery. Family and friend's will begin gathering at 10:30 am. with service at 11:00 am. with Father Suresh officiating. After the service please join the family at the VFW for a continuation of her life celebration.
