Mary L Gambill

Mary L. Gambill, 87 of Sullivan, passed away at 5:10am, on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Signature Health Care in Terre Haute. She was born September 12, 1927 in Vigo County to Benjamin Dietz and Leona Hicks Dietz. Mary is survived by a daughter Alice (Ronnie) Shorter of Sullivan, sons Ted (Rosemary) Gambill of Chapel Hill, NC and Gary Gambill of Jacksonville, FL, a sister Leona (Wally deceased) Robertson, grand-children Vince, Jason, Jill, and Jamie Gambill, Lindsey (Adam) Thiers, April (Jason) Shorter Childress, Kyle (Ashley) Shorter, and great-grandchildren Chayten and Kai Hernandez, and Parker and Payton Childress. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Wendell Leon Gambill who died in 2009, and a brother Claude Frederick (Marg) Dietz. Mary attended the Sullivan 1st Baptist Church, a member of Sullivan Lyons Club, and the AARP. Also, she had worked at the Dairy Queen, and Wilkinson Lumber Company in Sullivan. Services will be Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Dale Wise officiating in Holmes Memorial Chapel. There will be a private interment next week in Center Ridge Cemetery.
