Mary M Smith

Mary Smith, 87, of Sullivan passed away on Saturday June 24, 2017 at Sullivan County Community Hospital. She was born in Greene County on September 26, 1929 to Arthur G. Rine and Anna E. (Payne) Rine. She was a loving mother, a wonderful housekeeper who enjoyed her family and scrapbooking. She was a member of the Wabash Valley Community Church, where she enjoyed Sunday school and watching the babies in the nursery. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a son Charles Arthur Smith, a grandson Chad Smith, and two sisters Helen (Jones) Smith, Betty Stansbury.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years Charles Leon Smith whom she married on May 5, 1946, a son Larry (Linda) Smith of Rockport IN, a brother Edward Rine of Camby IN, a sister Virginia Lee Gregory, daughter in-law Robin Smith, grandchildren Sherri Ausbrooks, Terri Jo Moore, Travis Smith, Tracy Greggs, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services for Mary will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at Wabash Valley Community Church, 3932 St Rd 154 Sullivan IN, with Pastor John Moyer officiating. Visitation will be at the Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville. Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan has been entrusted with arrangements.
