Matthew Grimes

Matthew Grimes, 26, of Richland IN, passed away on June 27, 2019 from an automobile accident, with his loved ones with him. He was born in Sullivan County on January 21, 1993 to Danny Grimes and Barbara McKinley. Matthew, loved his animals, fishing and his daughter, Maddalynn. Matthew passed away with his daughter, her best friend, Isabella Pfingston, and Jessica Krohn. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bruce McKinley and paternal grandparents, Arthur and Maisie Grimes, and great grandparents Homer and Florence McKinley.

Matthew is survived by his parents, sisters Shyanne Lyday, Autumn Brown, Sommer Grimes, and Santana Grimes, one brother, Colt Grimes, Sissy and Uncle Joe, special cousins, Garrett Stantz, Kalee Stantz, Joey Goble, and several other cousins.

The family would like to thank the first responders, paramedics, bystanders, and the Davies County Sheriff’s Department for all of their compassion and hard work.

Services for Matthew will be at 2:00 p.m. at Holmes Memorial Chapel on July 5, 2019. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Merom cemetery.
