Melanie A Niswander

Melanie A. Rucklos Niswander 81, of Linton went on to her Heavenly home, on February 19, 2024. She was born in Cincinnati Ohio, to Robert Rucklos and Lillian Hudson Conley, on December 26, 1942. Melanie graduated from VanWert High School, Class of 1961. She continued her education at Toledo Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1964, where she proudly obtained her R.N. degree. After retirement she owned and operated an antique and miscellaneous shop, Somewhere in Time, in Upland IN where she spent most of her adulthood.

Melanie was a member of Shelburn First Baptist Church. She enjoyed helping others and made many friends along her path in life. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, knitting and gardening. Recently she found joy leading a quilting class at Autumn Trace Assisted Living Center, where she resided. She was never one to be idle. Melanie was a loving Mother, grandmother and friend .

Her parents precede her. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carrie Malone (Terry), Joanna McClish (Denice); stepdaughter, Stephanie Detamore (Kurt); brother, Dale Rucklos; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren along with her nephews.

Friends and family can pay their respects on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Holmes Memorial Chapel from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Services will be held on  Friday, February 23, 2024 at Shelburn First Baptist Church, with  Ben Weatherington officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am. until the time of service at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow at Little Flock Cemetery.
