Mervin Joe Snapp

Mervin "Joe" Snapp, 76, of Graysville, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born in Oaktown on February 17, 1937 to Ted and Johnnie Bernice (Black) Snapp. He attended Carlisle High School, was retired from the UMWA, Peabody Coal Co, a member of the Sullivan Moose Lodge # 2517. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bill and daughter Vicky Tracy. Survivors include three sons, Mike (Jackie) Snapp of Princeton, Kevin (Kim) Snapp of Sullivan, Jack Snapp of Sullivan , seven daughters Linda (Richard) Walters of Birds IL, Pamela (Stacy) Stanley of Sullivan, Christy (Eric) Stewart of Robinson IL, Melanie (Todd) Smith of Robinson IL, Karla (Dale) Borders of Sullivan, Kimberly (Mike) McGuire of Terre Haute, Sherri (Steve) Robbins of Sullivan, a brother Perry (Rose Ann) Snapp of Sullivan and a sister Jane (Carl) Huff of Sullivan, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 16, 2013 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Revs Mark Bailey and Mathew Hayes officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday 4-8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Oaktown Cemetery.
