Michael Paul Jackson 62, of Paxton passed onto his eternal hunting grounds on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at his home. His brief journey in life began on April 19, 1962 in Fulton County Georgia, born one of six children to the late Bernard and Kathrine Figg Jackson. He was a 1980 graduate of Sullivan High School. Michael was a member of Central Baptist Church in Sullivan. Where he committed his life to Christ and became a new man. He also was a longtime employee of ADM Sullivan Grain Elevator.
Michael was a devoted dad, grandpa, brother, brother in-law, uncle and friend, who loved without boundaries. If he loved you he loved you no matter your circumstance, he stood by your side. He was a friend to all. He was always willing to extend a helping hand to anyone in need. He might have been considered a bit brash by some, but all in good fun and his good ol’ country boy way.
Michael was the self proclaimed “Mayor of Paxton” you definitely knew he was in the room with his bold voice, never bashful, always spinning tales and joking with everyone. He always enjoyed filling the air around him with laughter. He was hard not to like, a bit stubborn at times and always spoke his mind, but he was tirelessly faithful to those he loved.
Never one to be idle, he enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and mushroom hunting in his spare time. His life was built around his family, spending time with each and everyone of his siblings, children, grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. His departure will leave a void in the lives and hearts of those he cherished.
His parents precede him , Bernard Jackson, Kathrine Figg Webb (Larry); along with siblings, Gordon Jackson, Timothy Jackson and Mark Jackson (Jamie).
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Gordon Jackson (Bree Lighthizer) and Michael Paul Jackson “JR” (Jessica); siblings, Buster Jackson (Amy), LeaAnn Hancock (John), bonus brother and lifetime friend, John Wayne Ridge (Della); grandchildren, Jakobe Jackson (Leah), Tyler Wright, Macy Jackson, Zoey Jackson, Briar Ridge and Bracey Ridge; bonus great grand baby, Saylor Green; several nieces, nephews and great niece along with many extended friends and family.
