Michael “Mike” Thomas, 65, of Paxton entered into Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with his loved ones at his side. Mike began his life journey on February 11, 1961, in Sullivan County, the son of Dickie and Marilyn Thomas. He was a member of the 1979 class of Sullivan High School and went on to follow in his dad’s footsteps with the Carpenters Union. Mike was also a member of Merom Bluff Church.

Mike was known far and wide for his free spirit and kind heart. He deeply valued those he cherished and was a devoted friend to many. He loved his family without boundaries, never wavering in his devotion. Never one to back down, he approached each new challenge with determination and perseverance. He excelled in wrestling during his high school years and succeeded at whatever he set his mind to. He enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles, and spending time with friends and family. His appreciation for life's simple pleasures was a deep part of who he was, and his love and generosity will be forever remembered.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his sister, Pat White, and her husband, Rick; his nieces, Christina White and Kaylee White; great nephew’s, Deacon and Kaiser Nunley; cousin’s, Mark and Doug (Maria), along with his beloved dog, Lucy.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Holmes Memorial Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Erich Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Center Ridge Cemetery.
