Mickey Joe Wilson, 89, of Sullivan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday April 17, 2025, at the Gibson Center for Hospice in Terre Haute. Mickey was born in Sullivan IN, on August 17, 1935, to Vernard and Kathryn (Hummell) Wilson.
Mickey was a 1953 graduate of Sullivan High School and had joined the US Air Force. He was a Senior Master Sargeant and had ben a special Investigator for the Air Force for over 17 years. He married the love of his life, Shirley Ann (Tague) Wilson in 1958 and she preceded him in death. He enjoyed raising his family, teaching them the values in life, reading the bible, coin collecting, playing bingo with friends, playing card games, and loved his dogs. He was a member of the Columbus Mississippi First Christian Church and the Sullivan First Christian Church.
Survivors include his daughter Shari (Tim) Sewell of Bloomfield, grandchildren, Thomas Wilson, Tabitha Lewis, Joseph Lewis, great grandchild Nicholas Wilson, several nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife Shirley, a son Darin, brothers Jim, Jack, Gene, and sisters Patty Clark and Mary McCammon.
Services will be at Holmes Memorial Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday April 26, 2025, with Pastor Dick Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Military Services will be given by the Sullivan County Honor Guard. Burial will be at Center Ridge Cemetery.
