Mildred Louise Hyde 88, formerly of Shelburn passed from this life on Monday, October 14, 2024 at The Waters of Sullivan. She was born in Vincennes Indiana on July 27, 1936 the daughter of Ned and Mildred Baldwin Crowley. After graduation she married her loving husband, George Hyde.
Louise was a wonderful, loving and affectionate wife, Mother and Grams. Her life revolved around her 8 children and grandchildren. She was an excellent baker, cook and homemaker. She leaves behind many memories of sitting around her table to share one of her many talents.
Louise was well known for her dedication to the Shelburn Legion Auxiliary Post #197, where she held the National Historian Office. She was awarded the Governor's Award for her fund raising abilities to make a significant financial contribution to open the Alzheimer’s wing of the Indianapolis V.A. Hospital. She proudly represented the auxiliary at the Hawaiian Nationals, a trip of a lifetime, also very much deserved for her tireless time and efforts.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, George Hyde; children, Wayne Hyde, Linda and Eddie Seay, Jennifer Hyde; grandson, Gene Hyde and son in-law, Kim Cox.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Bill Hyde, Mark Hyde, Cheryl Cox, Bonnie Chambers and Tenneal Woodruff along with 13 grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren, friends and extended family.
Services will be graveside, on Friday October 18, 2024 at 11:00 am. at Little Flock Cemetery with Pastor Dick Smith officiating.
The staff at Holmes Memorial Chapel were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
