Evelyn Marshall, 92, of Shelburn died at 2:12 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2004 in her daughter's residence in Shelburn. She was born July 17, 1912 in Shelburn to Charles Woodsmall and Mary Douglas Woodsmall. She was a retired certified nurse assistant at Terre Haute Regional Hospital and a member of the First Baptist Church , the Shelburn American Legion Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose. She was the Area 7 Senior Queen and a former Sullivan County Senior Queen. She was a former Curry Township Precinct Committeeman, and served on the Curry Township Advisory Board, a member of the Sullivan County Republican Women's Club, the Hello Dollars Club and a past member of the Eagles Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother John Woodsmall, two sisters Juanita Compton and Dorothy Kelboski.
Survivors include one son Bill J. Marshall of Shelburn, one daughter Alice Ann Goodman and her husband Bill of Shelburn, one brother Charles Woodsmall of Terre Haute , one sister Pauline Thayer of Shelburn, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2004 in the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Michael Nave and Rev. Don Ransford officiated. Burial was in the Westlawn Cemetery at Farmersburg. Pallbearers were Michael Marshall, Gary Marshall, Jeffrey Goodman, Douglas Goodman, Bill Goodman and Victor Stievenart.
