Margaret "Peggy" Hall Petty, 87, of Hymera died at 12:20 a.m. Sunday, December 11, 2005 in her residence. She was born March 22, 1918 in Hymera to Franklin Vanderpool and Garland Keene Vanderpool. She was a retired science teacher at the South Granville High School at Creedmoor , NC . and work as a volunteer at the Ft. Walton Beach Library in FL. She was a 1935 graduate of Hymera High School , a graduate of Indiana State University and received her master's degree from Duke University . She attended the Joan of Arc Catholic Church at Jasonville and was a member of the A.F.S.A. Auxiliary and a member of the National Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold G Hall, her second husband Wallace B. Petty, one son Norman Keith Hall, her parents and two grandsons.
Survivors include one daughter Janice M. "Jan" Simpson and her husband William D., of Hymera, one son Herbert F. "Herb" Hall and his wife Frostie of Brazil, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Pastor Eugene Schmitt officiated. Burial was in the K of P Cemetery near Hymera. Pallbearers were Bill Simpson, Brent Simpson, Rick Hall, Ryan Hall, Jim Marshall and Bob House. Honorary pallbearers were Tim Stefanski and Bob Jones. Music was provided by Rick Hall.
