Isa Doris Burton, 94, of Terre Haute and formerly of Sullivan died at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2005 in the Royal Oaks Nursing Home at Terre Haute . She was born December 17, 1910 in Central City, IL to James Smith and Margaret Howard Smith. The 1927 graduate of Merom High School was retired from the General Telephone Co. She was a member of the Sullivan First Baptist Church the Sullivan Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the Sullivan Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Garland Burton, her parents, two brothers and seven sisters.

Survivors include three sons Jack Burton, Joe Burton and his wife Deena and Jay Burton all of Terre Haute, seven grandchildren Rick Burton, Cheryl Burton, Leann Timukas, Susan Royer, Gary Burton and Jill Burton, nine great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren and other relatives.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Rev. Mitch Hoesman officiated. Burial was in the Center Ridge Cemetery . Pallbearers were Caleb Burton, Gary Burton, Saul Timukas, Andrew Mattern, Jay Burton and Scott Wible.
