Arnold M. Hannum, 78, of Elko , NV died Saturday, November 5, 2005 in Elko. He was born January 4, 1927 in Terre Haute to Luther O. and Helen Meyer Hannum. The Civil engineer was a graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and began his career with Ayrshire Colliers which was later purchased by Amax Coal Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran and in 1970 he moved to Wyoming as the chief engineer for Energy Development Co. In 1981 he was appointed Wyoming State Inspector of Mines and served in that post until his retirement in 1992 when he and his wife joined their family in Nevada .
Survivors include his lifetime sweetheart and wife of fifty nine years Wanda Lee Grass Hannum whom he married May 29, 1946, one son Lee Hannum and his wife Peggy of Spring Creek, NV, one daughter Sue Alexander and her husband Gary of Elko, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and other relatives.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Carlisle Odd Fellow Cemetery.
