Paul F. Byerly, 79, of Sullivan died at 4:05 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005 in Sullivan County Community Hospital . He was born August 12, 1925 in Georgetown , IL to John Byerly and Mary Day Byerly. He was a retired Chemical Supervisor for DuPont Chemical Co. and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was a fifty year member of the American Legion, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a 1943 graduate of Tangier High School . He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty nine years Claudine Parker Byerly who died October 25, 2004 , his parents and several brothers.
Survivors include two daughters Paula Warnick and her husband Steve of Shelburn and Rhonda Arnett of Sullivan, one sister Catherine Collom of Orange Park , FL , one grandson Kyle Warnick of Shelburn and other relatives. Memorial services with military rites by the Sullivan and Shelburn American Legions Post were at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2005 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dale Wise officiated. Burial was in the Roselawn Cemetery at Terre Haute.
