Medford P. Trimble, 90, of Carlisle died at 5:41 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005 in the Sullivan County Community Hospital . He was born June 1, 1914 in Carlisle to Scott Trimble and Addie Padgett Trimble. He was the retired owner of Trimble Insurance Agency in Carlisle and a member of the Sullivan First Christian Church. He was a 50 year member and past president of the Carlisle Lions Club and was one of the founders of the Carlisle Community Ambulance Service where he served as the financial secretary since its inception. He was a 1933 graduate of the Carlisle High School and was honored as a Sagamore of the Wabash Valley in 1990 by then Governor Evan Bayh. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Hershel Trimble and two sisters Lela LeDune and Audrey Brust.
Survivors include his wife of sixty four years Dorothy Alice Robbins Trimble of Carlisle whom he married September 14, 1940; one son Michael "Mike" Trimble and his wife Julie of Mooresville, one granddaughter Erin Trimble, one great grandson Silas Thaler and other relatives.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2005 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Rev. Dale Wise officiated. Burial was in the Carlisle Odd Fellows Cemetery . Pallbearers were Carl LeDune, George Buskirk, Stanley Arnett, Tim Robbins, Don Meier and Mike Murphy. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Holmes, Wayne Cox and Ralph McCann.
