Pauline "Polly" Blakeman Patton, 81, of Sullivan died at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2005 in the Sullivan Health and Living Center . She was born September 25, 1924 in Sullivan to Jacob Blakeman and Fannie Llewellyn Blakeman. She was the former co-owner of Patton's Appliance in Sullivan and Linton and Patton's Music Store in Sullivan. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Sullivan Art Guild where she taught painting and she also catered wedding from her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Noel and Nev Brodie, two sisters Zana Thornell and Freda Price and two grandsons Zain Edwards and Jamie Gray.
Survivors include her husband of fifty five years John J. Patton of Sullivan whom she married January 7, 1950, three sons Daniel W. Patton and his wife Sally of Columbus, Robert J. Gray and his wife Hazel of Fairbanks and James F. Gray and his wife Marge of Edinburgh, one daughter Freda R. Bowen of Columbus, twelve grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, seven great, great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2005 in the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dale Wise officiated. Burial was in the Center Ridge Cemetery . Pallbearers were Kenny Patton, Randy Patton, Dan Patton, B.J. Yontz, Bill Gray and Michael Dunham.
