Evelyn Stoltz Gilmore, 89, of Mt. Vernon and formerly of Carlisle died Sunday, March 13, 2005 in the Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center . She was born August 8, 1915 in Bridgeport , IL to Chester Stoltz and Edna Westfall Stoltz. She was a retired teacher at the Carlisle High School and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church . She was a fifty year member of the Carlisle First United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women's Club and a member of the Busy Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Gilmore, one son Gary Gilmore and her parents.

Survivors include one son Keith Gilmore and his wife Susan of Orleans, one daughter Linda Denning and her husband Jim of MT. Vernon, five grandchildren Kim Krieger and husband Brian, Jeff Denning and wife Johnna, Brian Denning and wife Melanie, Laura Gilmore and Matt Gilmore and wife Sara, four step grandchildren Sandy Holbrook, Gayle Lavely, Margaret MacCailum and Heather Gilmore, seven great grandchildren, several step great grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Carlisle with Rev. Amy Artis officiating. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery . Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
