Max M. Ready, 87, of Sullivan and formerly of Carlisle died at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, February 01, 2005 in the Sullivan County Community Hospital . He was born May 22, 1917 in Decker to Ira Ready and Orpha Hobson Ready. He was a retired farmer and building contractor. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a member of the Rose Chapel United Methodist Church and the Carlisle American Legion. He was a charter member of the Sullivan County Credit Union, a former Chairman of the Sullivan County Republican Party and was very instrumental in starting Ag-Days in Sullivan County . He was preceded in death by his first wife Helen Horst Ready and his parents.
Survivors include his wife Ruby Lambeth Boone Ready of Sullivan, two sons John Ready and his wife Vickie of Princeton and Tom Ready of Sullivan, four step sons Kenneth Boone and Steven Boone of Mission, TX, Thomas Boone of Kingman, AZ and Gary Boone of Carlisle, two step daughters Kay Yardman of Santa Fe, N.M. and Mary Goss of Mission, Tx, two brothers John Ready of Bloomington and Dale Ready of Princeton, five sisters Alice Hall, Eva Knotts, Mary Ann Horton and Faye Walters all of Carlisle and Pat Harder of Princeton, several grandchildren and step grandchildren, several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. Friday 4, 2005 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Rev. Barbara Allen officiated. Burial was in the Carlisle Odd Fellows Cemetery.
