Nicholas Adam Kays, 22, of Sullivan died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the Sullivan County Community Hospital . The 2002 graduate of Bartlett High School was born December 23, 1983 in Vincennes to Kenneth Kays and Teresa Weaver Kays Young. He was a lead operator at Allomatic. He was a district representative of the Indiana Field Archery Association, a member of the National Field Archery Association and the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Survivors include his father and step mother Penny Kays of Sullivan, his mother and step father Jimmy Young of Lillian, AL, two sisters Summer Nicole Kays Nowicki and her husband Aric of Madison, WI and Emily M. Kays of Henryville, grandparents Sarah Henry of Sullivan, Bob and Barbara Weaver of Zion, IL, great grandfather Fay Adams of Palestine, IL and other relatives.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2006 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Mike Chapman officiated. Burial was in the Palestine Cemetery at Palestine , IL . Pallbearers were George Conner, Justin Emmons, Aric Nowicki, Brock Emmons, Aaron Emmons, Cody Bliss, Brandon Dube and Daniel Simpson.
