James Henry "Jim" Reed, 81, of Shelburn died 4: 00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006 in his residence. He was born June 27, 1925 in Terre Haute to Wilmer Reed and Grace Stewart Reed. He was retired from Pfizer's and farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Shelburn American Legion and the Sullivan V.F.W. he was preceded in death by one son Robert Lee Reed, his parents, one brother Keith Reed and one sister Dorthea Ann Sligar.

Survivors include two daughters Alice Godfrey and Carolyn Hendricks both of Jasper, two brothers George Reed of Fairbanks and Albert Reed of Farmersburg, five sisters Priscilla Davidson and Beulah Baughman of Shelburn, Mary Anderson of Sandstone, MN, Wilma Jo Miller of Coalmont and Ruth Stultz of Carlisle, seven grandchildren and other relatives.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Tom Montgomery officiated. Burial was in the Center Ridge Cemetery . Pallbearers will be Wilmer Reed, Keith Reed, George Reed, James Reed, Lee Reed and Thomas Taylor.
