James Robert "Jim" Arnett, 73, of Sullivan died at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, June 25, 2006 in his residence. The 1950 graduate of Sullivan High School was born October 22, 1932 in Carlisle to George Arnett and Lottie Abrams Arnett. He was a self employed truck driver and a former maintenance man for the Sullivan Housing Authority. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Graysville United Methodist Church , the Sullivan American Legion and a former member of the Sullivan Optimist Club. He was preceded in death by his wife Ada Marie Matthews Arnett and his parents.

Survivors include four sons Jeff Arnett, Clay Arnett and Matt Arnett and his wife Angie all of Sullivan and Bob Arnett and his wife Lynne of Graysville, one daughter Susan Snyder and her husband Norman of Leesburg, FL, two brothers Jerry Arnett and Lev Arnett both of Sullivan, six grandchildren Jeffrey Arnett, Jamie Arnett, Jessie Arnett, Robert Arnett, Ryan Arnett and Erica Gaskins, two great grandchildren Brayden Branson and Jaylee Branson and other relatives.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Mark Miller officiated. Burial with military graveside rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan VFW was in the Center Ridge Cemetery . Pallbearers were Jeff Arnett, Clay Arnett, Bob Arnett, Matt Arnett, Norman Snyder and Jeffrey Arnett. Soloist was Bill Sam Phegley and organist was Mary Huff.
