Tyrel Howson, 20, of Merom died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville . The 2004 graduate of Sullivan high School was born August 22, 1985 in Sullivan to Ronald Howson, Jr. and Jackie Kay French Howson Gettinger. He was a logger for the Turman Creek Logging Co. and attended the Shaker Prairie Christian Church.

Survivors include his father of Sullivan his mother and step father John Gettinger of Merom, four brothers Tell Howson, Wyatt Gettinger, Nolan Gettinger and Elijah Gettinger all of Meron, one sister Josie Ann Gettinger of Merom, grandparents Bill and Melanie French of Merom, Vicki Richardson of Shelburn, Ron and Carol Howson of Merom, Jack and Martha Gettinger of Merom, Imogene Dorn of Robinson, IL, Ruth Haub of Dugger and Juanita Bailey of Blue Lick and other relatives.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2006 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jim Berry and Rev. Eric Blevins officiated. Burial was in the French Family Cemetery at Merom Station. Pallbearers were David Howson, Jesse Howson, Bryan Bonebrake, Clint Adler, Gabe Blevins, Mike French, Chris Wardell and Jeffrey Moseley. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Moseley, Paul Jones, Phil Fitch, Jamie Mason, Chris Bowne, James Russell and Cain Bond.
