Donny Burns, 50, of Sullivan died at 8:00 a.m. Sunday, June 18, 2006 in Sullivan. The 1974 graduate of Sullivan High School was born April 23, 1956 in Chicago to Donald Burns and Rose Torresso Burns. He was a loan officer at the First Financial Bank in Vincennes and a former owner and operator of Brown Abstract Co. of Sullivan. He was a member of the Wabash Valley Community Church , the Sullivan Elks Club and the Sullivan County Library Board. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother Howard Burns.

Survivors include one son Ben Burns of Sullivan, two daughters Kristina Burns of Portland , OR and Bethany Ann Burns of Sullivan, his mother of St. Petersburg , FL , one brother Ronald Burns of Salt Lake City and other relatives. Services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2006 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Allen Buzard officiated. Burial was in the Westlawn Cemetery at Farmersburg. Pallbearers were Ben Burns, Ron Burns, Bob Houston, John Houston, Dale Chambers and Kory Houston.
