Hezzie B. McKain, 102, of Merom died at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 03, 2006 in the Sullivan County Community Hospital . He was born February 10, 1904 in Spraytown to Elva McKain and Elizabeth Ault McKain. He was a retired produce and dairy farmer and a member of the Modern Woodsmen of America. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Hanley McKain, his parents, one daughter Betty Scott and two brothers Francis McKain and Dale McKain.
Survivors include four sons Kenneth L. McKain and his wife Wilma and Allen L. McKain and his wife Loretta all of Shelburn, Richard H. McKain and his wife Beverly of Carlisle and Manford E. McKain and his companion Sarah House of Terre Haute, two daughters Zona Suellen Ware and her husband Billy of Louisville, KY and Sharon Stewart and her husband Tom of Sullivan, eighteen grandchildren, fifty one great grandchildren, thirteen great, great grandchildren and other relatives.
Services were at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2005 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Rev. Terry Chandler officiated. Burial was in the Carlisle Odd Fellows Cemetery . Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers were Jason McKain, Ben McKain, Todd Stewart, Mike McKain, Bruce McKain, Charles McKain, Dale McKain and Robbie McKain.
