Harold Lee "Hal" Waltman, 76, of Sullivan and formerly of Shelburn died at 4:41 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute . The 1948 graduate of Windfall High School was born December 24, 1929 in Kokomo to Orville Waltman and Edna Amelia Kronenburg Waltman. He was a former employee of Kroger's and owner and operator of Hal's Handy Foods of Shelburn. He was member of the Shelburn United Methodist Church , the American Legion, the Sullivan County Art Guild and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by one son Hal Waltman, his parents and one brother Glen Waltman.
Survivors include his wife of forty five years Judith Drake Waltman of Sullivan whom he married August 20, 1960, three daughters Jill Ransford and her husband Todd of Sullivan, Amy McClintock and her husband Mike of Fishers and Beth Klaker and her husband Dan of Indianapolis, two brothers Jack Waltman of Longwood, FL and David Waltman of Kokomo, two sisters Mary Jane Fye of Kokomo and Carol Fleenor of Galveston, IN four grandchildren Erica Ransford, Lauren Ransford, Griffin Klaker and Tori Klaker and other relatives.
Services were at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2006 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Terry Chandler officiated. Burial was in Center Ridge Cemetery . Pallbearers were Caleb Waltman, Glen Waltman, Tim Waltman, Brian Whitman, Jerry Drake and John McClintock.
