Richard D. "Rick" Riley, 59, of Hymera died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, February 12, 2006 at his residence. He was born October 21, 1946 in Sullivan to James Riley and Eva Christina Holladay Riley. The 1964 graduate of Hymera High School was a maintenance supervisor for the J.C. Penney Co. and a member of the Hymera First Baptist Church . He was U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the Hymera American Legion, the VFW and was an avid Nascar Racing Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Reagan Riley.

Survivors include his wife of thirty nine years Della K. Burnett Riley of Hymera whom he married April 7, 1966, two sons Richard D. "Rich" Riley, II and his wife Gena of Fairbanks and Rory Riley of Hymera, one sister Rena Mitchell of Burnett, six grandchildren Ross Riley, Haley Riley, Mariah Riley, Bryce Riley, Ashleigh Riley and Bridget Hood and other relatives.

Services were at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2006 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Chaplain Mike Julian officiated. Burial with military graveside rites by the Sullivan and Shelburn and Hymera American Legion Posts was in the K of P Cemetery at Hymera. Pallbearers were Joe Knight, John Brown, Bob Witt, Gary Woods, Danny Weir and Jim Fahrenbacher.
