George Claude Jones, Jr., 81, of Sullivan died at 7:10 p.m. Thursday, November 08, 2007. The 1944 graduate of Bosse High School was born February 16, 1926 in Evansville to George Claude Jones, Sr. and Jennie Perkins Jones. He was a carpenter and a former maintenance man at the Mary Sherman Hospital. He attended the First Baptist Church and served as the church custodian for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jim Jones and one sister Mary Hess.

Survivors include his wife of fifty one years Betty Sue Scott Jones of Sullivan whom he married February 24, 1956, three sons Kenneth A. Jones, Sr. and his wife Rita of Waterloo, IL, Kevin L. Jones of Sullivan and Keith D. Jones of Terre Haute, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and other relatives.

Services were at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel. Rev. Timothy Fleace officiated. Burial was in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Jones, Sr., Kevin Jones, Keith Jones, Kenneth Jones, Jr., Kyle Jones and Mitchell Jones.
