Maurice James "Moe" McMahan, 70, of Terre Haute died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007 in Union Hospital at Terre Haute . The 1955 graduate of Sullivan High School was born February 18, 1937 in Sullivan to Walter McMahan and Maud Farrand McMahan. He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Carpenter's Local 133 and a U. S. Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Walter McMahan, Mervin McMahan and Melvin McMahan and three sisters Lois Brown, Norma Graham and Naomi Huff.

Survivors include his wife of forty eight years Anita Sue Walters McMahan of Terre Haute whom he married November 26, 1958, one son Jeffrey Allen McMahan of Sullivan, one daughter Vicki Royal and her husband Charles Del of Farmersburg, two brothers Donald McMahan and Charles McMahan both of Sullivan, three sisters Wilma Spencer of Sullivan, Doris Cox of Hutsonville and Janice Wright of Paxton, two grandchildren Lacey Lynn Royal and Kristin Leighanna Royal and other relatives.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Rev. Eddie Hammond officiating. Burial with military rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legion Posts and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in the Center Ridge Cemetery . Visitation is 11:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday.
