Nellie Marie Ellerman, 88, of Carlisle died at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2007 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born July 18, 1919 in Vincennes to John Kennedy and Katie Armstrong Kennedy. She was a homemaker, a member of the Shaker Prairie Christian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Prairie Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward "Ed" Ellerman, her parents, one grandson Wayne Roberts, three brothers Frank Kennedy, Carl Kennedy and Ben Kennedy and one sister Elsie King.

Survivors include one son Edward "Pete" Ellerman of Carlisle, two daughters Lillie Mae Roberts and her husband Jerry of Carlisle and Mary Traylor and husband Dan of Otwell, one brother Louis Kennedy of Jacksonville, FL, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, five great, great grandchildren and other relatives. Services were at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Bill Sam Phegley officiated. Burial was in the Carlisle Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers were Doug Roberts, Scott Ellerman, Andrew Roberts, John Milulich, Jeff Mann and Chris Owens.
