Michael H. "Gunner" Petrosky, 51, of Farmersburg died at 7:55 a.m. Thursday, October 04, 2007 at his residence. He was born May 5, 1956 in Brazil to John Petrosky and Doris Pifer Petrosky. He was a laborer and a member of the Laborers Local 204 at Terre Haute. Michael joined the United States Marines in 1973 and attained the rank of Corporal, the Vietnam Veteran was honorably discharged in 1977. He was a member of the Marine Corps League in Terre Haute the (Joseph Bray Detachment), a member of the Sullivan American Legion Post #139 at Sullivan, a former member of "The Has-Beens" Social Brotherhood and an active member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife of twenty one years Amanda Jane Wilson Petrosky of Farmersburg whom he married January 24, 1986, three sons Randall Joe Pyles of West Terre Haute, Dustin Petrosky of Terre Haute and Paul Vogel of Brazil, two daughters Christina Jean Pyles of Speedway and Nicole Pierson and her husband Rowdy of Farmersburg, three grandchildren Haley Petrosky, Rowdy Pierson and Dana Petrosky and other relatives.

Services with military rites by the Sullivan, Shelburn and Hymera American Legions and the Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars was at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2006 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Baldwin officiating.
