Ronald G. "Ronnie" McKinley, 71, of Carlisle died at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born October 5, 1935 in Carlisle to Dewey McKinley and Gretchen Grass McKinley. He was retired from Amax Coal Company after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Shaker Prairie Christian Church, the Prince Lodge #231 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Evansville, The Hadi Shrine Temple, Evansville and Local 1791 UMWA. He was preceded in death by one daughter Rhonda Kay McKinley, his parents and one brother Willard McKinley.

Survivors include his wife of fifty three years Constance "Connie" Thewlis McKinley of Carlisle whom he married June 5, 1954, one son Rick McKinley of Carlisle, one daughter Monna Cardinal of Sullivan, one sister Norma Halter of Vincennes, two grandchildren Marcie Hartzburg and Lindsay McKinley, two great grandchildren Tre' Edwards and Jadon Edwards and other relatives.

Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Sptember 14, 2007 at the Holmes Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Rev. Eddie Hammond officiated. Burial was in the Shepherd Cemetery near Carlisle.
